What is missing in my Life?
Christopher Titmuss
9:30 am - 4:30 pm Saturday 19 January 2019
Dharma Primary School, Brighton
Our mind can easily get caught up in what is missing in our life - love, a role, peace of mind, children, success, intimacy, fulfilment and more.
We live a life torn between what is present and what is absent.
The duality of presence and absence generates stress, feelings of failure and time pressure.
There are other ways to view the circumstances of our existence.
In this one-day workshop, we explore these issues using mindfulness, meditation and sharing of experiences.
The day will include a talk on the theme, inquiry and questions and answers.

Spiritual Roots of Mindfulness
Secular mindfulness has a genuine value for the practitioners of mindfulness, but sometimes at the cost of a deep sense of the spiritual in daily life. Identification with secular values can get in the way of spiritual wisdom.
The Spiritual Roots of Mindfulness consists of 10 chapters offering a spiritual approach to our lives. The chapters include more than 20 stories of people’s deep experiences of mindfulness, meditation, communication, nature and spiritual/religious awakening.
Readers will see bullet points in specific sections for daily reflection for readers on the application of mindfulness and associated teachings. The Buddha recognised the significance of mindfulness in a body of teachings. The book includes quotes of the Buddha on mindfulness and a summary of his classic discourse on mindfulness.
